Michelle earned a Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapies, Drama Therapy (Concordia University, 2008), following a Bachelor of Arts in Drama/Psychology (University of Alberta, 2006). She was so inspired by working with children and youth, that she completed a Post-Graduate Certificate (Levels 1-3) in Child and Play Therapy (Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy, 2014).

For over 10 years, Michelle has worked with diverse populations and organizations serving children, youth, and adults in Toronto, Montreal, London (UK) and Accra (Ghana). Her clinical expertise is in facilitating creative and play-based interventions for individuals, families and groups, for clients aged 3-18 years.

Michelle has specialized skills to support children, youth, and/or their families who have experienced or been affected by:

Play Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy allow children to grow, learn, heal and thrive. Children often do not have the ability to express their thoughts and feelings in words, and sometimes words alone are just not enough. Creative arts therapies and play therapy offer children the opportunity to express themselves, to learn appropriate coping skills, and resolve challenges they are facing.

In addition to these formal qualifications, Michelle is a creative, playful and dynamic individual, who is passionate about supporting children and families in sharing their stories, witnessing, validating and guiding them through the process of healing, growth and change. She practices in a child-centered, strengths-based, LGBTQ positive and anti-oppressive space. Michelle looks forward to meeting you and your family!
