Nidhi has a Master’s of Education in Language, Teaching and Culture and an Honours of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University. She has also attained an Advanced Diploma in Behavioural Science Technology from George Brown College and a College Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Sheridan College. She is also a registered Early Childhood Educator in the province of Ontario and a member of The College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
Nidhi joined Canoe Therapy as an Instructor Therapist in December 2014 where she provides behaviour analytic clinical services based on clients’ needs. She applies the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis to implement behavioural interventions and plans as outlined by the Supervising Therapist and/or the Clinical Supervisor. She brings with her three years of experience of working with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism in settings such as home-based, clinic-based and community (i.e. daycare centres).
In her spare time, Nidhi enjoys reading, travelling and cooking. As an Instructor Therapist, Nidhi is very passionate about her work. At Canoe, her goal is to work towards improving the quality of everyday life of children with autism and to help them become independent. As a therapist, Nidhi believes that autism does not define an individual – she does not see a special needs child, she sees a child with special needs. Down the road in her career, Nidhi plans to work towards becoming a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.
