Description: This group will run by an Occupational Therapist trained in handwriting skills and certified in the Handwriting Without Tears program. This group will focus on reviewing of uppercase letter formation and teaching lowercase letter formation using the Handwriting Without Tears program which is a multisensory approach developed by Jane Olsen, Occupational Therapist. The program will focus on pencil grasp, letter formation, letter placement, printing on line and fine motor skills. Every child will also be provided with Handwriting Without Tears booklet to work on throughout the group.
Where: Canoe Therapy Burlington
Appropriate for: For children who are 6-8 years old and are experiencing difficulties completing written work at home and school due to: challenges with pencil grasp, incorrect letter formation, irregular spacing within and between words, decreased speed, decreased use of lines, or are drawing their letters from the line upwards.
