Aira completed her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from the Philippines in 2008. Since then, she has been practicing in the pediatric field in private clinics and in school settings.
During her 7 years of experience, she has supported children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental delays, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome and other pediatric neurological and genetic disorders. She has worked with children between the ages of 8 months and 16 years, and has developed expertise in providing fine motor skills training, ADL and prevocational training, cognitive visual perceptual training, and sensory processing.
For Aira, being an Occupational Therapist also means being an active learner of different approaches and techniques to help improve a child's optimal function. She was able to attend various training programs with regards to sensory processing, social thinking, and fine motor skills development.
Aira is also a firm believer in including and prioritizing family's goals above anything else.
In her free time, Aira volunteers for Bloorview School - Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. She enjoys visiting different places to try different kinds of food, watching shows, seeing concerts, and travelling to different parts of the world. She hopes to see other parts of Canada soon too!
