Nikki completed her Bachelor of Science in Developmental Psychology from McMaster University and her Masters of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. She is a registered member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists.
She began her pediatric Occupational Therapy career at a Children's Treatment Centre in Lambton County in 2014. Nikki worked with children of all ages and with many different diagnoses. Nikki was also a member of the Teen Transition team. She helped develop programs targeting independent living skills and social skills to aid adolescents in their transition to adulthood. In 2016, Nikki worked at a private pediatric clinic in Barrie. She worked with children aged 0-18 to address challenges with self-care, fine motor, balance, coordination, visual motor and visual processing skills as well as sensory processing and self-regulation. Nikki has completed the following continuing education workshops:
Nikki strongly believes in family-centered care and she encourages caregivers to participate in her sessions when they are able to. She has a passion for making learning fun and helping children build not only their skill level, but also their confidence.
Outside of work, Nikki enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, running, playing soccer and camping.
