Sandra graduated from Dalhousie University with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy after completing her Bachelors of Kinesiology degree from McMaster University. Upon graduation, Sandra received the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists Prize for demonstrating the greatest degree of leadership in her class. Sandra is currently a registered member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association as well as the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
She enjoys taking courses to expand on her skills and knowledge and has completed her Kinesio Taping and athletic taping courses, numerous paediatric courses (including NDT) and received certification for applying acupuncture.
Sandra has worked in outpatient clinics and acute inpatient rehabilitation in hospital, however her one true passion is in paediatrics. She has extensive experience with assessment and treatment of a variety of paediatric conditions, such as, developmental delay, torticollis/plagiocephaly, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental coordination disorder (DCD), gait abnormalities (e.g. idiopathic toe walking, in-toeing, bow legged) and orthopaedic conditions (e.g.fractures, sports-specific injuries and general strengthening and ROM).
In her free time, Sandra enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends
